This is a very pretty 1920s-1940s era decorative sash belt buckle featuring an ornate scrolling design with colorful hand-applied enamel accents in red, green, and blue. This two-piece buckle has a hinged center closure and dual slide bars on the reverse, designed to be worn with a fabric sash, ribbon belt, or decorative waist tie.
Constructed of cast metal with a warm brass-tone finish and detailed textured surface. The enamel decoration adds vibrant color and old-world character.
Condition:
It is in lovely condition for its age. The buckle does show light, age-appropriate wear consistent with use and age. There is some minor wear to the hand-applied enamel accents, including small areas where enamel dots may have worn or thinned over time. This is subtle and does not detract from the overall visual appeal. The back shows expected surface wear from age and use. The clasp functions properly with no repairs noted.
Unmarked. Maker unknown.
