SUPERB ANTIQUE CARVED MAHOGANY FRENCH 8 DAY MANTEL CLOCK GWO
Please make use of the enlarge feature on the many photos to fully enjoy all this lovely, quality clock has to offer your home or collection.
In a fabulous solid mahogany case, this is not only beautifully shaped, but along with the deep, rich colour and graining is the wonderful carving found to the front. From its ornate finial, through its stylish tapered waist, down to its four balled brass feet, it oozes quality and elegance. Set into this superb backdrop is the white enamel dial and fine steel hands, behind the convexed glass and brass bezel. It stands 13 inches to the tip of the gilded finial, on a base of 5 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches deep.
At the heart of the clock beats a quality, French, 8 day, platform movement. The platform allows the clock to run on any surface, level or not, without the need to set it in beat. It is complete with a key and keeping good time, with a gentle tick.
A lovely, elegant clock from the end of the Victorian age, that will look fabulous in any environment, old or new.
