About this item :
A rare, vintage mechanical clockwork novelty toy manufactured in England by O. & M. Kleeman Ltd. in the 1940's / 1950's under the Kleeware brand, given to me by my grandfather many decades ago.
This is in good condition and works, please see the video.
The piano has become detached from the base but this can easily just be glued back on as it was originally.
When winding it up from the base (upside down) you have to pull the black circular base rearwards a couple of millimeters to locate the brass key into the slot, then it can be wound up. Once wound up the black base is pushed back inwards slightly to release the black key from the slot. I don't know if this is how it should be wound up or if the key should always remain in place in the slot?. The switch on the top can then be turned on for it to work.
The box is 80+ years old and shows it age as pictured.
The original 2 x inner cardboard packing rings are also included.
I have no idea how to price this hence the auction style listing.
I post all items within 1 working day.
