FOR SOVIET LFZ LOMONOSOV NARODNYE UZORY 26 PIECE TEA SERVICE BY VOROBYEVSKY
A substantial and very attractive Soviet LFZ/Lomonosov porcelain tea service decorated with Alexey Vorobyevsky’s iconic “Народные узоры” (Folk Patterns) design.
The service comprises:
* 12 matching tea cups
* 12 matching saucers
* 1 teapot with lid
* 1 sugar bowl with lid
* 26 pieces in total
The decoration features colourful traditional Russian folk-inspired motifs including stylised red horses, birds, flowers, geometric panels and extensive gilt decoration in cobalt blue, red, green and gold.
The pieces carry the distinctive red ВНЕ ГР / ЛФЗ / 1С marks to the bases.
The Народные узоры design was created by Alexey Vorobyevsky, with the Весенняя (Spring) form designed by Serafima Yakovleva. The design dates to 1957, with examples of the service continuing in Soviet LFZ production subsequently.
Good overall condition for age.
There is one small chip to the rim of one cup, clearly shown in the photographs.
The sugar bowl lid has a detached porcelain finial/knob. The original detached piece is present and will be included with the service.
The remaining pieces appear generally good, with some expected minor signs of age and use.
Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
The gilding shows some age related wear in places.
IMPORTANT
This is a large matching 26 piece group and would make an impressive display or collection of Soviet LFZ porcelain.
Please note that although the 12 cups and 12 saucers all match, I am describing this as a 26-piece matching group/service rather than claiming that it is definitively an original factory-issued 12-place service.
Cups: 6.35 cm high x 10 cm diameter
Saucers: 14.2 cm diameter
Teapot: 15.2 cm high x 12.7 cm widest point
Teapot capacity: approximately 568 ml (1 imperial pint)
Please note measurements are approximate and taken by hand.
