This rugged mid-century utility companion highlights a classic clip-point field silhouette accented by an elegant brass S-shaped crossguard and an ergonomic black handle scales package, standing as a character-rich user knife from the golden era of post-war Japanese cutlery manufacturing.
The knife was made in Japan by an unknown manufacturer (unmarked). The handle appears to be made from black molded composite (hard rubber / synthetic polymer) and the blade and metal parts from high-carbon steel. The knife's main blade is approx. 12.2 cm (overall total length of the knife is approx. 23.5 cm). The knife appears to be from approx. 1960s–1970s.
The condition of the knife is in fair to good vintage condition. There is signs of age and use. The knife may need sharpening, cleaning and oiling. The high-carbon steel blade displays an authentic dark storage patina, superficial scuffing, and carbon spot tracking throughout, but retains its original sweeping profile line. The black handle scales are structurally firm with standard pocket rubs, and one side features minor honest handling scuffs that do not affect structural integrity.
These knifes could be used but are more intended for collectors. I've done me best to identify and describe the details of the knife. The photos are the best description, as this is the item you will receive.
