Lind's Studies in Pre-Vesalian Anatomy comes from the personal working library of Dr. Malcolm Hast (co-translator of the definitive 2014 English edition of Vesalius's De Humani Corporis Fabrica).Laid-in Correspondence: Found inside the book is a historic 1996 letter from the author, L. R. Lind, addressed directly to Dr. Hast's co-translator and classical Latinist, Professor Daniel Garrison ("Dear Dan"). In the letter, Lind praises their progress on the monumental Vesalius translation and provides specific, handwritten errata corrections for pages 139 and 150 of this very text, noting where he "went off his trolley." An extraordinary piece of living academic history linking the greatest minds of 20th-century anatomical translation.

Note on Ephemera: The laid-in letter appears to have been manually typed onto a sheet of University of Kansas stationery that was pre-signed by the author and photocopied, meaning the signature itself is a facsimile rather than direct pen-and-ink.
