I have to separate my own collectables that will gradually be listed here from the silver bullion sales partnership as advised by my tax agent due to taxation issues.
These coins are available for many international customers but with restrictions. Postage is a flat AU$44 for a single collectable item. Should you want to order more than one listed (to a maximum of three ounces) please order them one by one in a basket and then pay but note that when the total exceeds the UK/EU limits where eBay does not take out VAT you will be charged VAT depending upon the country as below before the package will be handed over.
USA: With recent updates at AusPost as far as USA shipments go, I have been given a HS customs code 7118 90 00 55 (Other coins of legal tender: Other) where no tariffs will be charged. Any state taxes due will continue to be paid by the buyer through eBay. Since the recent changes to date there have been no issues and all packages have been getting through smoothly.
United Kingdom: VAT is paid through eBay if the total price is under GBP135, which at current prices means one ounce of these limited issue collectables at best. If the total goes over that, be aware that you will have to pay VAT plus a handling fee before the package will be handed over. That should be just 5% based on the Customs HS code I will use, that being 9705 39 00 00, the correct official code for "Collections and collectors' pieces of numismatic interest (excluding over 100 years old)". Duplicate Invoices will be taped to any package for customs perusal and they will also be advised in a note attached that 5% is the correct VAT on limited mintage silver coins. If customs insist on the full 20% VAT, challenge them and if still not successful use form BOR286 to claim a 15% VAT refund. I'm here to help should any be needed.
European Union: VAT is usually paid through eBay if the total price is under EUR150. If the total goes over that, be aware that you will have to pay VAT plus a handling fee before the package will be handed over. Most European countries generally also have reduced VAT for the customs HR code 9705 39 00 00 but at varying rates up from 5% to 10%. We will attempt to use this HR code for all countries throughout Europe. As with UK sales, I will now make it clear on any invoice and attached note that this classification has a reduced VAT rate that should apply. I will do my best to ensure a smooth delivery process but at the same time I cannot guarantee it.
Being collectables and not classified as bullion, both Canada and New Zealand will have GST taken out through eBay. If you want to order from other countries not listed send me a message and I will consider the possibility.
I will double check buyers and message them so that they have the opportunity to cancel an order should there be any doubts, but generally import duties, tariffs, taxes and other charges are the buyer's responsibility. I do reserve the right to cancel any order that does not fall within the guidelines but to avoid this possibility please contact me beforehand.
