Up for sale is a beautiful, substantial hand-carved Chinese jade style pendant depicting a traditional monkey climbing among peaches.
Material & Texture: This piece features a distinct waxy, greasy feel to the touch and is very smooth.
Translucency: It is completely opaque, and no light passes through the stone.
Weight & Feel: The piece feels noticeably cold to the touch and is extremely heavy and dense for its size.
At-Home Hardness Test: I performed a steel razor blade scratch test on a hidden area, and the steel left absolutely no mark on the stone.
This successfully rules out common soft imitations like serpentine, soapstone, or marble.
Authenticity Disclaimer: While the piece passed all typical at-home physical tests for genuine nephrite jade (cold feel, dense weight, waxy texture, and razor hardness), it has not been professionally certified by a gemological laboratory. Because it is not officially authenticated, I cannot guarantee the exact origin or age 100%, so please review the photos closely and judge for yourself.
Measurements: Approximately 3 inches long by 2 inches wide.
Excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks. It features natural russet and reddish surface inclusions typical of genuine stone.
