A distinctive vintage Kama (Кама) Soviet mechanical wristwatch from the 1950s, associated with the Chistopol watchmaking tradition that later became known for Vostok watches.

This example has a particularly attractive aged black dial with warm bronze/gilt-tone Arabic numerals and hands, a recessed small-seconds subdial at 6 o’clock, and a classic mid-century military-style appearance.

The watch is powered by a 16-jewel manual-wind mechanical movement, clearly marked 16 КАМНЕЙ.

The watch has been professionally serviced by a watchmaker and is running.

Please note an important operational detail: the winding crown feels tight/stiff when winding. It does wind the movement, but requires more effort than would normally be expected. This is disclosed clearly so the buyer knows exactly what to expect.

Condition:

Good authentic vintage condition with substantial age-related character and patina.

The original-style appearance of the dark dial is particularly attractive, showing visible aging, spotting, discoloration and surface wear. The numerals and hands have developed a warm aged tone that complements the military-style design.

The case shows scratches, plating wear, oxidation and other marks consistent with decades of use. Please examine the close-up photographs carefully for the exact cosmetic condition.

The caseback carries Cyrillic markings including ПЫЛЕВЛАГОНЕПРОНИЦАЕМЫЕ and ПРОТИВОУДАРНЫЕ, referring to dust/moisture protection and shock protection.

The movement has been professionally serviced by a watchmaker and the watch is running.

Important: the crown winds noticeably tight/stiff. It does wind successfully, but the winding action requires more effort than normal. This characteristic is reflected in the description and should be considered when purchasing.

No modern water-resistance capability is claimed or guaranteed due to the age of the watch.

The brown strap appears to be a later replacement and is not represented as original.

Please review all photographs, including the movement, caseback and measurement photographs. They show the actual watch being offered and form an important part of the description.

A very appealing early Soviet mechanical wristwatch with strong patina and an excellent military/field-watch aesthetic.
