A lovely example of the hugely popular Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight, owned by me for the past couple of years and now offered for sale.

This is a watch that has been worn and enjoyed, rather than kept in a safe, so please read the condition description and look carefully through the photographs. Mechanically, however, it is performing beautifully and everything operates exactly as it should.

CONDITION & TIMEKEEPING

The watch is running extremely well. I have tested it on my timegrapher in various positions and it is currently showing approximately -1 to -5 seconds per day depending on position.

The bezel turns smoothly and positively, the crown operates exactly as it should, and the watch winds, sets and runs great.

Cosmetically, there are a number of normal wear/desk marks, particularly to the bracelet and clasp. These were already present when I acquired the watch and they have never particularly bothered me, but they are there and I want the next owner to know exactly what they are buying.

I have deliberately photographed the watch under strong/heavy lighting, rather than trying to hide the marks, so please study the photographs carefully.

There is also one very small ding on the non-crown side of the case. Again, I have photographed this clearly, including a close-up alongside the point of a needle to give an accurate indication of just how small it actually is.

It is extremely minor and cannot be seen when the watch is being worn, particularly given its position against the wrist, but it is there and is mentioned for complete transparency.

Aside from the normal signs of use described above, the watch presents very nicely and is in excellent working order.

STEEL REEF ON-THE-FLY EXTENSION LINK

A particularly useful addition is the Steel Reef on-the-fly extension link, which is currently fitted to the bracelet. These were specifically designed for the BB58 bracelet and fit seemlessly.

This provides approximately 0.5–0.6 inches of additional adjustment on the fly, making it extremely useful during warmer weather or whenever your wrist expands slightly during the day.

I have demonstrated the operation of the extension in the accompanying video.

BRACELET & SPARE LINKS

As currently configured, the bracelet should comfortably suit a wrist of approximately 7.25–7.5 inches.

The original spare links are included and provide a little over another inch of bracelet length, so there is plenty of scope to size it for a larger wrist.

BOX, PAPERS & DATE

The watch is supplied as a full set with its original Tudor box and papers, all of which are in very good condition.

The watch dates from June 2021. As it is now just beyond Tudor's five-year warranty period, there is no remaining Tudor manufacturer's warranty.

SUMMARY

This is a very nice, honest Black Bay Fifty-Eight that has been worn as intended and consequently shows signs of use, particularly to the bracelet and clasp.

Importantly, I have made every effort to show those marks accurately rather than photograph around them. Mechanically it is performing extremely well, keeping excellent time and operating exactly as it should.

The addition of the Steel Reef on-the-fly extension link is also a genuinely useful upgrade to the standard BB58 bracelet.
