15W IR Infrared Light Bulb — Add-On Night-Vision Light for the Camera You Already Own
=========================================================================
This listing is for ONE infrared (IR) light bulb. It is a lighting accessory only. It does not record video, does not connect to Wi-Fi, and no camera, bracket, or cable is included. It screws into any standard E26/E27 socket and floods the area with infrared light so your existing camera's night view looks brighter, cleaner, and reaches farther.
READ BEFORE BUYING — 30 Seconds That Prevent a Return
This is an IR light bulb, not a camera. It is a bulb. It has no lens, no sensor, no app. If you are looking for a camera, this is not it. If you already own a camera and want it to see better in the dark, this is exactly what you need.
940nm does NOT glow to the naked eye — that is how it is supposed to work. 940nm infrared is completely invisible to human eyes. In a dark room you will see a bulb that looks like it is off. This is normal and is the whole point of a covert IR light. To confirm it is working, look at it through your phone camera (see "How to Test" below). If you want a visible red glow, order the 850nm version instead.
Check your voltage before you install. This version is AC 85–265V (works with US 110–120V household power).
Why Buyers Pick This One
Brighter, cleaner night image. 5 high-output 3W IR LEDs (15W total) push far more infrared light than the small LED ring built into most cameras — less grain, less "fog", more usable detail after dark.
Screws in like a normal bulb. Standard E26/E27 base. No wiring, no transformer, no adapter. If a light bulb fits there, this fits there.
Wide voltage 85–265V. Works on US 110–120V out of the box, and tolerates voltage fluctuation without flickering.
Pick your level of stealth. 850nm for maximum distance, 940nm for zero visible glow. Choose with the guide below instead of guessing.
Aluminum body runs cool and lasts. Aluminum + PC housing pulls heat off the LEDs for a long service life.
2-year warranty and real support. Message us on eBay and we answer within 24 hours.
Which Wavelength Should You Choose?
850nm — Maximum distance.
Visible to the eye: a faint dark-red glow at the LEDs in a dark room.
Typical effective range: about 33–60 ft (10–18 m).
Best for: outdoor-facing windows, garages, warehouses, barns, long driveways — anywhere you need the most infrared output and do not care about a small red glow.
Heads up: the faint red glow is normal, not a defect. If you need total darkness, pick 940nm.
940nm — Fully covert.
Visible to the eye: nothing at all — it looks like the bulb is off.
Typical effective range: about 20–40 ft (6–12 m).
Best for: bedrooms, nurseries, living rooms, hotel rooms — anywhere the light must not be seen by people.
Heads up: shorter range than 850nm. Invisible does NOT mean broken — test with your phone camera.
Ranges above are typical for a dark indoor area with a camera that already has infrared night vision. Actual distance depends on your camera's IR sensitivity, lens, mounting height, and ambient light. No IR bulb can add night vision to a camera that does not have it.

Installation — 3 Steps
Turn off the power at the switch or breaker. Confirm the socket is a standard E26/E27 screw socket.
Screw the bulb in by hand until snug. Do not overtighten. Do not use it with a dimmer switch, a motion-sensor switch, a smart switch, or a timer — these cut the waveform and will cause flickering, buzzing, or no light at all.
Restore power, then aim your camera so its lens covers the area lit by the bulb. The bulb lights the scene; the camera does the rest.
How to Confirm the Bulb Is Working (Important for 940nm)
Method 1 — phone camera (works for all wavelengths): Turn off every light in the room. Open the camera app on your smartphone and point it at the bulb. Look at the phone screen. You will see the LEDs glowing clearly (usually pink, or purple on screen). Phone camera sensors see infrared; your eyes do not. If it glows on your screen, the bulb is working perfectly.
Method 2 — naked eye (850nm only): In a fully dark room, a working 850nm bulb shows a faint dark-red glow at the LED area. 940nm will show nothing at all — this is correct behavior, not a fault. Never judge a 940nm bulb by looking at it directly.

FAQ
Q: Is this a camera? Can it record or connect to Wi-Fi?
A: No. It is an infrared light bulb. It produces no image, has no sensor, and has no network function. It only provides invisible infrared light for a camera you already own.
Q: My 940nm bulb shows no light at all. Is it defective?
A: Almost certainly not. 940nm infrared is invisible to human eyes by design. Please test it with your phone camera in a dark room using Method 1 above. If it glows on your phone screen, it is working normally.
Q: My 850nm bulb has a faint red glow. Is that faulty?
A: No. A faint dark-red glow at the LEDs is normal for 850nm and is why it reaches farther. If you need a completely invisible light, choose 940nm.
Q: Which is brighter, 850nm or 940nm?
A: 850nm. Camera sensors are more sensitive to it, so it delivers roughly 1.5–2x the effective range. 940nm trades range for total invisibility.
Q: Can I use it outdoors or in the rain?
A: No. This bulb is rated IP20 and is for dry indoor locations only. For a covered porch or eave, it must sit inside a fully weatherproof fixture that shields it from rain and condensation.
Q: Can I use it on a dimmer or a smart switch?
A: No. It is not dimmable. Dimmer, motion-sensor, and smart switches will cause flickering or prevent it from lighting. Use a standard on/off switch.
Q: Will it work with my camera?
A: If your camera already has infrared night vision and you have a standard E26/E27 socket nearby, it will help. It fits standard E26/E27 lamp sockets and needs no brand-specific match. It cannot add night vision to a camera that lacks it, and results vary with your camera's IR sensitivity.
Q: Does it get hot?
A: It warms up during use, which is normal. The aluminum body dissipates heat. Allow it to cool before handling.
