UNITED STATES 1945 D

 JEFFERSON SILVER WAR NICKEL NICKEL

1945 D MINTAGE:  37,158,000

During World War II, starting in late 1942, the U.S. 5 cent piece was composed of 35% Silver, 56% Copper, and 9% Manganese to conserve Nickel for the war effort.  They are identified by the large mint mark placed above the dome of Monticello.  We feel this interesting specimen is uncirculated.  There are some contact or "bag" marks when examined closely or under magnification but no circulation wear whatsoever, and it appears to have full steps.  The color is brilliant with pinwheel luster but there is a slight amount of gold toning emerging in areas.  We are not professionals or experts and grading is subjective so study the photographs of the actual coin and you be the judge.  Please email with any questions prior to bidding.  Thanks for looking.
