Description
Vintage A. Lawson block plane made in Shelton, Connecticut, USA, believed to date to approximately the 1940s–1950 era.
This is a scarce American-made cast iron block plane with a turned wooden front knob and traditional hand-plane construction. The body markings are worn but appear consistent with A. LAWSON / SHELTON / CONN. / U.S.A.
The plane measures approximately 6-3/4 inches long and is similar to documented A. Lawson examples from this period.
Condition:
Pre-owned vintage condition with visible age and use wear. Cast iron body shows finish loss, oxidation, surface rust, scratches, discoloration, and general shop wear. Wooden knob shows scratches, wear, and patina. Metal components show oxidation and age-related wear.
Blade/cutter and hardware are included as shown. The plane has not been sharpened, tuned, restored, or fully tested for woodworking performance, so it is being sold in its current vintage condition.
Please review all photos carefully for exact condition, markings, completeness, and included parts. You will receive the exact plane pictured.
A nice collectible example of a scarce A. Lawson American-made block plane.
