1989 Land Rover 110 County Station Wagon 2.5 TDI – Genuine Original Example – Restoration Project

Here for sale is my 1989 Land Rover 110 County Station Wagon 2.5 TDI, offered as a complete package together with a very good replacement chassis that I sourced for it.

This is a genuine, original County Station Wagon and a very worthwhile project for somebody with the ability and time to complete the restoration. I bought it with the intention of carrying out a full restoration and ultimately creating a standard 110, but unfortunately the person who was going to carry out the work has let me down, so I have decided to let somebody else take it on.

The Land Rover

The 2.5TDI engine is running extremely well, so there is absolutely no reason why the vehicle couldn’t simply be restored and retained with its original engine. Everything is currently 100% original and it would make a fantastic original-specification restoration.

Replacement Chassis & Brand-New Parts

I want to be completely upfront about the condition.

The rear section of the existing chassis is rotten and the vehicle requires a chassis swap.

However, I have already sourced a really lovely replacement chassis which is 100% solid and incorporates a galvanised section. This chassis is included with the sale.

I’ve also spent a considerable amount of money buying brand-new bolts, fixings and other parts required to fit the replacement chassis.

These parts are all included with the sale, meaning the new owner doesn’t have to start from scratch buying all the hardware and components needed for the chassis swap. A lot of the groundwork and expense has already been taken care of.

The bulkhead is in very good condition.

Overall

This is not a finished vehicle and I don’t want to pretend otherwise. It requires a chassis swap, bodywork, paint and some interior work.

What it is, however, is a genuine early County Station Wagon with good provenance, original bill of sale, history, etched windows, a beautifully running 2.5 TDI, a very good replacement chassis, brand-new chassis bolts and associated parts

I’ve already spent a considerable amount of money putting the parts together for this project, including the replacement chassis and brand-new hardware.

These early, original 110 County Station Wagons are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and once properly restored this has the potential to be a very valuable and highly desirable Land Rover.

It owes me considerably more than I am asking for the complete package. Unfortunately, my original plan was to have it restored by somebody I trusted to do the work, but they’ve let me down, and I simply don’t have the person available to complete it.

I’d much rather see it go to somebody who will do the job properly and finish what I’ve started.

With the right restoration, finished in original red with the correct steel wheels, this could be an exceptional 110.

Please study all photographs carefully and understand that this is a restoration project requiring a chassis swap.

The vehicle doesn’t drive as the clutch cylinder has popped, also one prop is off but included. It also has a spare transfer box and gearbox included.

Viewing is welcome for anyone genuinely interested.
