Antique hand-thrown two-handled pottery jar. Approx. 7 5/8 in tall x 5 3/4 in across. Rounded body drawn in to a flared collar, with two applied strap handles running from the shoulder to the neck. Mottled ochre, amber and iron-red glaze with grey flashes, thinning over the high points and pooling in the throwing rings.

The interior is dark and unglazed at the base. The foot is unglazed, showing the raw clay with kiln grit and mineral deposits — photographed. There is no maker's mark, signature or label anywhere on the piece, so no attribution is offered.

Condition: very good for its age — no chips or cracks noted; glaze loss, surface pitting and mineral deposits consistent with age and use. Please review all photos, which form part of the description.

From a smoke-free home; wrapped and double-boxed.
