Antique John Maddock & Sons Covered Sauce Boat Tureen Green Leaves with gold gilt

For consideration is this antique covered sauce boat tureen by John Maddock & Sons, North Staffordshire, England, and made between 1880 and 1896. This sauce boat has curved handles and lid finial and they are decorated with gold gilt. The rim of the lid and boat also has gold trim. The piece is green leaves transferred on lid and tureen. It measures 5.5” inches tall overall, the bowl mouth measures 6” long and 4½ inches wide, 8 ¼ inches across from handle to handle. The lid has a slot for a spoon or ladle which is not included.

These 2 pieces are an excellent condition. Some of the gold has worn off as you would expect on a piece 120 years old. The Mark is very well done and easy to read the bottom. I purchased this in a lovely estate sale in St. Petersburg, Florida. They had tureens from around the world.
