Fine and imposing 18th-century French equestrian engraving with hand colouring, 

depicting Louis Cazeaux de Nestier (1686–1754), an important horseman and riding master associated with the Grande Écurie of King Louis XV.


Nestier is portrayed in profile mounted on an elegant white horse, wearing a blue coat richly decorated with gold, against an extensive landscape.


The composition was painted by Philibert-Benoît de La Rue in 1751 and engraved by Jean Daullé (1703-1763), Graveur du Roi, in 1753. The print was published in Paris by Buldet, rue de Gesvres. 


Size with margins : 64 x 45 cm / 25,1 x 17,7 inches

Edition : Buldet, Paris

Condition : A strong and highly decorative impression retaining its margins and full engraved title. Extensive scattered foxing and spotting, particularly visible in the margins, handed colored.
