The Globe Clock takes the design language of the legendary Official Swiss Railways Clock and gives it a place indoors. The white dial is unmistakable — clean markers, unadorned hands, nothing competing for attention — and at 49.5mm it stays readable from across a room.

Setting it into a rounded silicone base turns a piece of public infrastructure design into an object. In red, it reads as a deliberate accent rather than a functional clock: the kind of thing that anchors a shelf or a desk.

A Swiss quartz movement drives the clock, so accuracy needs no attention beyond an occasional battery change. The clock head lifts cleanly out of the silicone base, which makes setting the time straightforward and lets you move the head between rooms or angles without wrestling with the whole piece.

Mondaine owes its origins to the Official Swiss Railways Clock designed by engineer Hans Hilfiker in 1944. The first Mondaine wristwatches followed in 1986, with the iconic design licensed from the Federal Swiss Railways — a combination of innovation and simplicity that still embodies the best of 20th-century Swiss design.
