Pro Tools Studio is the version of Pro Tools most working studios actually run. It is the full professional application, not a cut down one: 512 audio tracks, 1,024 MIDI tracks, 512 instrument tracks and 64 simultaneous recording inputs, which is more than almost any commercial session needs. The step up from Pro Tools Artist is not a few extra features, it is a sixteen times larger track count and the entire professional mixing set.

The mixing tools are where Studio separates from Artist. VCA mixing, advanced automation, solo bus AFL and PFL, advanced metering with gain reduction and Clip FX are all here, alongside surround mixing and a built-in Dolby Atmos renderer that needs no second machine and no separate renderer application. 360 Reality Audio, Audio Vivid, MPEG-H and ADM export are supported, so immersive delivery is not gated behind the top tier.

For anyone exchanging work with other rooms, Studio adds AAF, OMF and MXF interchange, a video track with 4K and UHD support, batch renaming and extended RAM and disk caching. It also unlocks the Pro Tools Carbon and Carbon Pre interfaces and runs AAX DSP plug-ins when paired with Carbon.

More than 130 AAX plug-ins are included, covering EQ, dynamics, reverb, delay, virtual instruments and metering, and the engine runs 32-bit floating point at sample rates up to 192 kHz. This is a perpetual licence, so the version you activate is yours permanently.
