PLATO. The Dialogues. Trans. by Brendon Jowett. [with] The Seventh Letter. Trans. by J. Harward. London: Encyclopedia Britannica. 1952. 8vo. Quite handsomely rebound in a type of exotic leather with five raised bands, gilt titles to red segment, gilt ruling to boards. The binding is unsigned and is, we presume, done by a trainer binder given the leather type—soft, not plush, but lightweight in the French style—which takes nothing away from the execution. Light marks externally, gently bumped and pushed. The binding tight and square. Contents toned throughout, the title page torn with tape repairs to edges, ink gift inscription and a few other marks here, else quite clean. Marbles endpapers, no prelims. A handsome volume overall.
