In the unreal world of Sacred Heart Hospital, intern John "J.D" Dorian learns the ways of medicine, friendship and life.

Taking a different approach to both the sitcom and the medical television genres, SCRUBS was a critical success that became a cult hit. The show centers around J.D. (Zach Braff), a wacky medical intern at Sacred Heart Hospital, and his friends and colleagues: his confident best friend Turk, neurotic fellow intern Elliot, tough nurse Carla, and their supervisor, the cruel Dr. Cox. Unlike many sitcoms, SCRUBS employs a structure of continuing plotlines and developing characters, like many dramas will. It also combines verbal wit, slapstick humor, and fantasy sequences in order to garner laughs--a strange but effective combination that suggests a skewed version of reality.
