A historically interesting medieval Islamic coin from the Artuqid dynasty of Mardin, featuring the name and titles of the celebrated Ayyubid ruler al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf I (Saladin).

Obverse: Diademed and draped bust facing, flanked by two stars, with the name of Nasir al-Din Artuq Arslan in the surrounding legend.

Reverse: The name and titles of the Ayyubid overlord al-Nasir Salah al-Din Yusuf I (Saladin) arranged in five lines within a six-pointed star. Mint formula and date appear in the outer margins.
