Traditional raw earthenware incense burner (called Gisre or burnerPond), Folk art from Ethiopia.
- Traditional use: Used during the famous coffee ceremony (Buna) or to purify the habitat. Placed on embers, it served as a thermal chimney to diffuse incense through its central orifice and its two side slits.
- Patina and authenticity: Superb patina of use. The interior and the top of the piece bear traces of natural and encrusted soot, witnesses to its numerous ritual uses.
- Handicraft work: Completely hand modeled and engraved with geometric sawtooth patterns and textured flutes.
- Equipped with a small high handle for handling. The base is entirely hollow (bell/cone shape).
State : Slight natural erosion of the clay on the reliefs (see photos).
