Produced for “Van Der Zee: Photographer 1886–1983,” presented at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C., October 22, 1993 through February 13, 1994.
Printed attribution beneath the photograph reads: “Dance class, 1928. ©1993 Donna Mussenden-Van Der Zee. Fotofolio Editions.”
An uncommon exhibition poster from the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery retrospective of noted Harlem photographer James Van Der Zee.
Framed measurements are approximately 32" wide × 24" tall.
Poster is housed under glass in a simple black frame. Overall presentation is very nice for its age. There are some small scattered marks/specks visible in the white margin area. Because the poster remains framed under glass, it is unclear whether all of these marks are on the poster itself or whether some are debris beneath/on the glass. Please review the close-up photos for condition.
Frame shows light wear consistent with age and previous display.
