An exceptional late 19th-century French Napoleon III centerpiece tazza, featuring a finely hand-painted Chinese export Canton Famille Rose porcelain dish mounted on an elaborately decorated gilt bronze base.
The shallow porcelain bowl is decorated with vibrant polychrome enamels depicting traditional palace figures, birds, and blooming floral arrangements, surrounded by delicate green, pink, and gilt decorative borders. The rim is finished with a beaded gilt bronze mount, while the two sides feature striking geometric handles.
The bowl is supported by a tiered, fluted gilt bronze pedestal decorated with stylized acanthus leaves and small classical relief ornaments. The combination of Chinese Canton porcelain and richly worked French gilt bronze creates a particularly elegant and decorative Napoleon III centerpiece.
