Early Australian Commonwealth of Australia P.M.G. candlestick telephone set, manufactured by Ericsson Sweden and presented with its matching twin-bell wooden PMG bell box.

The telephone retains its striking period presentation with brass transmitter housing, black candlestick body, Ericsson Sweden branding, PMG identification, receiver and cloth-covered wiring. Research of the transmitter configuration indicates the earlier Type 36MT solid-back style rather than the later inset-transmitter type.

The accompanying timber bell box carries a clear Commonwealth of Australia P.M.G. plaque, twin brass bells and period fittings. The bell box has not been opened or internally dismantled, as we have deliberately preserved the set exactly as acquired.

The set presents exceptionally well for its age and appears highly original. Brass, timber, finish, cords and fittings show genuine age and patina consistent with long-term preservation. It has not been polished or restored by us.

Please study all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
