Seller's Note:

Found this vintage crimson wool letterman cardigan made by General Sweater Corp in Los Angeles. It has a lot of great history attached to it with the name "Sorenson" is stitched inside the collar, "64" is on the sleeve, and it features a full GAA (Girls' Athletic Association) patch setup with a chenille "P", year stripes, and a star. All three of her original award pins are still attached to the front, and I even found a tiny 1960s handwritten fabric heart left in one of the pockets (I've redacted the name for the purposes of this listing).

As for the school, my best educated guess is Pius X High School in Downey, CA based on the crimson color, the LA maker, and the warrior motif on the GAA pin (their mascot was the Warriors). I checked the '64–'66 alumni rosters and didn't see the name Sorenson listed, so I can't guarantee that's the spot, but it fits the local profile. If you happen to recognize the exact pin setup, definitely let me know.

A really cool piece of pre-Title IX women's sports history from back when GAA was often the only organized athletics girls had.
