• WHY DO I NEED CONTROL ARMS?
• Even though the Ford Motor Company has designed some great SUVs, on this chassis a common point of failure in the suspensions is the rear trailing control arms. The unprotected sided arms are known to rust prematurely as well as bend or become damaged easily from off-road terrain. The factory rubber bushings are soft and rot early in their life and rob stability from the rear end. Replacement bushings are expensive to install and require a press and full replacement arms are overpriced and still weak. Heavy Metal's HD arms are inexpensive and easy to install.
• WHAT ABOUT BUSHINGS?
• Our control arms come with pre-installed high density polyurethane bushings which reduce lateral play in the rear axle keeping your alignment in spec and control. These bushings are pre-lubed and require no further service once installed. Being pre-installed saves you the extra cost of needing to get replacement bushings pressed in which can get expensive when outsourced to a shop.
• ARE THESE ARMS COATED?
• Yes, these control arms have been finished with a special hard powder coating process which doesn't nick or chip and prevents the build up of rust or corriosion meaning they will withstand even the toughest conditions.
  

Heavy Metal provides a lifetime warranty on all products to be free from manufacture and material defect for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle. Warranty is only valid on the products within the kit and do not extend to the rest of the vehicle or surrounding parts. Lifetime warranty is non-transferable and proof of purchase may be requested upon redemption of warranty privileges. Purchaser will be responsible for all costs of removing the defective part from the vehicle, costs for postage to return the item, and any reinstallation costs. Upon receipt of the item, Heavy Metal will be liable for either repair or replacement of the part at their option along with shipping the repaired or replacement item back to the original purchaser. Items replaced will be matched as similarly to the item returned as best as possible. Heavy Metal reserves the right to make changes to the material, design, and specifications of the replacement item without prior notice. The Lifetime Warranty does not cover cosmetic damages or any product that has been: altered, abused, installed on a different application (other than what it was advertised for), installed incorrectly, or used in any racing/competition applications. If the replacement item is needed before the defective item is shipped back, the purchaser must leave a deposit for the full purchase price which will be refunded once the defective item is returned and deemed warrantable.
