Original 1960–1961 British Railways Glasgow Electric Train Services Public Timetable

Up for auction/sale is a fantastic piece of Scottish railway and social history. This original booklet covers the landmark launch of Glasgow's suburban electrification—the famous "Blue Trains" era—operating from 7th November 1960 to 11th June 1961.


Documents the introduction of the revolutionary Class 303 electric multiple units on the Glasgow Queen Street low-level lines.
Features the stunning, highly collectible abstract overlapping blue and yellow arrow emblem. This geometric design was a direct, localized predecessor to British Rail’s definitive double-arrow logo introduced later in the 1960s.
Covers services via Glasgow (Queen Street), Helensburgh, Balloch, Airdrie, Milngavie, Springburn, and Bridgeton Central. Includes regional route map diagrams and service interval tables.

The booklet is in very good, clean vintage condition. The front and back covers retain sharp typography and vibrant, high-contrast coloration. The interior pages are clean, tightly bound, and completely legible. There is only minor edge wear and a light crease consistent with its age (please see photos for full visual details).
