Description

An antique relief panel depicting a classical Bacchic procession of putti playing with a goat. The front displays crisp hand-chasing, with beautiful detailing throughout the goat's mane and the soft contours of the cherubs. It features an authentic uncleaned dark patina with warm metal undertones showing at the natural wear points.

Casting & Construction:

Reverse Side: Features matching negative recesses behind the figures. It shows historic granular sand-cast textures, cooling pitting, and distinctive gas-vent micro-beading along the design borders.

Weight/Profile: Expertly cast with a thin, lightweight background profile to save on material costs, typical of 19th-century foundry work.

Mounting:Primitive integrated hanging holes drilled at the top margin edge.


Condition: antique condition. No splits, cracks, or modern repairs to central panel. Surround is bent and split in places.. Original aged patina.
