1980's VINTAGE BRITISH ARMY ISSUE 1968 PATTERN DPM COMBAT SMOCK
1982 CONTRACT CODE - JAMES SMITH & CO (DERBY) LTD STAVELEY
SIZE 1 - SMALL TO 5'7" - SERVICEABLE GRADE-2 USED CONDITION - WEAR TO CUFFS & LOWER HEM
For sale here is an original British Army issue 1968 pattern DPM combat smock, issued from the late 1960's and well into the 1980's these are the classic Cold War DPM combat jacket, made in the UK to a very high standard the likes of which British Army uniform has never again enjoyed since they were retired from use!
This particular smock has a CT2B/1123 contract code which puts manufacture at approximately 1982/1983, so very much of the Falklands War era.
CONDITION: Smock is in serviceable Grade-2 used condition, it has been issued and worn and there is more wear than I would allow for a Grade-1 example. As you can see from the photographs the cuffs show wear and there are holes and wear to the lower hem and it's lower drawcord is absent. Aside from this, the smock is still in perfectly serviceable condition, the collar is not worn through, the NZ zip is original and in good order, colour retention is good, this is still a perfectly respectable and solid example with a whole life left in it, ALL photos show the ACTUAL jacket you will receive.
SIZE: Smock label as stated is faded but I think it was probably a SIZE-1, it is something like a SMALL. On the tape measure the smock comes up as follows: 44" chest (22" pit-to-pit), 19" across the shoulders, 24" under-arm, 28.5" from rear collar seam to bottom hem of smock.
Price reflects condition, far from mint but perfectly respectable and with a whole life left in it, in need of a good new home.
