This beautifully executed Danbury Mint 1:24 scale model captures the unmistakable presence of the 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk in its striking Tiara Gold and Arctic White finish. Although the original Danbury Mint box is simply marked “1957 Studebaker,” the underside of the model itself clearly identifies it as a Golden Hawk. The dramatic gold metallic finish, contrasting white rear-quarter panels, extensive chrome trim and wide whitewall tires give this model exceptional visual presence.
The Golden Hawk was one of the most distinctive American coupes of the 1950s, with styling rooted in the celebrated Raymond Loewy design lineage. Its long, low proportions, almost European sports-car character, upright grille and sweeping rear fins gave it a look quite unlike most American cars of the period. That unusually sophisticated profile is beautifully captured here, from the sculpted hood and prominent grille to the bright side trim, fin treatment and beautifully proportioned hardtop roofline.
The detailing is equally impressive throughout. Both doors open to reveal a richly finished gold interior with detailed seating, dashboard, instrumentation and steering wheel. The hood opens to expose a fully detailed engine compartment, while the opening trunk reveals the fitted spare tire. The finely rendered grille, chrome bumpers, Studebaker badging, whitewall tires, wheel covers and detailed chassis make this an especially handsome example of Danbury Mint’s 1:24-scale craftsmanship.
VEHICLE: Mint condition. The paint, chrome, trim, glazing, interior and engine compartment are exceptionally clean, with no damage or noteworthy imperfections observed. All opening features operate as shown in the photographs. As with any hand-assembled precision diecast model, there may be additional tiny factory-level finish or assembly variations visible only under extreme close inspection. This is a particularly beautiful example and displays superbly from every angle.
BOX: Near Mint. The original Danbury Mint box shows only mild shelf wear, as shown in the photographs. The original molded Styrofoam packaging is included and remains clean and intact. No papers are included.
