This beautifully executed Danbury Mint 1:24 scale replica captures the distinctive styling of the 1956 DeSoto Firedome Convertible in its striking Iridescent Lavender and Iridescent Plum two-tone finish. It is an individually numbered Limited Edition #56 of only 5,000 produced—an exceptionally low serial number—and was manufactured in 2004. The original Danbury Mint box is also marked with identifying number 1365002000018.
The Firedome reflects the exuberant mid-1950s DeSoto design, with its long, low body, wraparound windshield, sweeping side trim, abundant chrome and distinctive grille and tail treatment. The unusual lavender-and-plum combination gives this model tremendous period character, complemented by wide whitewall tires, detailed wheel covers and a richly finished black and patterned interior. The included removable black convertible top is in perfect condition and remains protected in its original plastic housing fitted into the Styrofoam packaging.
Detailing is extensive throughout. Both doors open to reveal the finely rendered dashboard, instrumentation, two-tone steering wheel, seating and interior trim. The hood opens to expose a fully detailed engine compartment, while the opening trunk reveals the spare tire and detailed luggage area. The model also features operating steering, finely reproduced badging, chrome trim, lighting details and a fully rendered chassis and undercarriage.
VEHICLE: Mint condition. The paint, chrome, trim, glazing, interior and engine compartment are exceptionally clean, with no damage or noteworthy imperfections observed. All opening features operate as shown in the photographs. The original removable black convertible top is included and is in perfect condition in its protective plastic housing. As with any hand-assembled precision diecast model, there may be additional tiny factory-level finish or assembly variations visible only under extreme close inspection. This is an outstanding display example and presents beautifully from every angle.
BOX: Near Mint. The original Danbury Mint box shows only mild shelf wear, as shown in the photographs. The original molded Styrofoam packaging is included and remains clean and intact. No papers are included.
