Preventing Rust: Once your preserved food or culture has cooled and you have confirmed the jar is sealed, we recommend removing the outer band. This prevents the band from corroding and helps you easily identify any seal failures during storage.
Lid Maintenance: Note that the included 2-piece lids are BPA-free, but they are not stainless steel. To avoid corrosion (especially if modifying them for mycology), hand wash lids only. Do not put them in the dishwasher, and dry thoroughly immediately after use.
