Garcia Fans !!! who really dig the Rare !! And, of course ... the Super-Cool ! looking too !! Offered here is a Stellar ! piece of Early ! J.G.B. Rock & Roll History !! This is the Vintage Original ( Genuine / Authentic ) Jerry Garcia Band ( J.G.B. ! ) Backstage Pass for the 1981 Fall Tour stop at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston Massachusetts !!! This was a big-league East Coast / Mid-West Garcia Band run that delivered 17 1/2-Shows in 14-Venues ! from Halloween 1981 ... all the way through 11/19/81 at the Rainbow Theater in Denver, Colorado ! This Tour stretched through Pennsylvania - New York - Maryland - New York ( again ) - New Jersey - Washington D.C. - New Jersey ( again ) - New York ( again ) - Massachusetts - Vermont - Rhode Island - Chicago - and Colorado ! Truly setting the early ' path ' for many future Garcia Tours ! in the East !! And ... you might be asking yourself - why " 17 1/2 " Shows on this J.G.B. Tour ?! And, that answer is a pretty funny one indeed ... well, at least it is now - here close to 45-Years ! later. As back then ... not so much ! Basically, back then - as you probably already well know ... the J.G.B. would often play 2-Shows at one Venue - on 1-Day ! So yeah ... Double your Jerry !! - if I may. Sounds like a plan to me !! Lots of Musicians would follow this pattern back then - and still do today at times ... 2-Shows in one day - at the same Venue - and one the same stage ! Usually, in the smaller & more intimate type Venues & Clubs. So ... this 11/13/81 Orpheum Show in Boston was indeed one of those events ... with 2 !! J.G.B. Shows ! - both an ' Early ' Show - and a ' Late ' Show too !! However, after the 1st Show went off - in Perfecto ! 1981 Garcia Band type fashion ... and believe me too - this one was Hot !!! Nothing short of a scorcher - as was most of this '81 Tour ... and the '81 Garcia Band unit in general ! With, lots ! of Guitar ! - and hot solo-pockets ... & wide open Space ! too for Garcia to get after - with Tiger Rose ! So ... the 1st Show was opened up by Peter Rowan ! - and then the J.G.B. delivered a 2-Set Show ( the ' Early ' Show ) ... with a 4-Song 1st Set - and a 3-Song 2nd Set. And then ... when the other Show rolled around - hence, the ' Late ' Show ... Peter Rowan successfully opened up for Garcia again - but when the J.G.B. came out ... they were only able to get off a 4-Song 1st Set !?! And Why ? Well ... there was a Fire nearby the Orpheum during the Show ! - and, a power outage actually ' ended ' this 2nd ' Late ' Show before Garcia & Co. could finish !?! Whoa ! Talk about a little Promoter-Nightmare ! And also, for all those Fans who only had Tickets to the ' Late ' Show ... hey though, at least everybody in that Late-Show got 4-Songs, which though disappointing as it is ... should still be ok - seeing as though this is the '81 J.G.B. !!! that we are talking about. One of the Hottest ! Garcia-Band units there ever was ... with Jerry - John Kahn - Melvin Seals - Daoud Shaw ( Drums ) - Jimmy Warren ( Electric Piano & Clavinet ) - and both !! Essra Mohawk & Liz Stires on dual Vocals ! Plus ... this is '81 Garcia on Guitar !!! - which, at least to my ears ... is some of the Hottest ! of All-Time, in the J.G.B. format. Wow !!! So yeah, just a little tid-bit of Rock History ! for you here - and of course, an Absolutely-Killer !! J.G.B. Backstage Pass !!! ... Enjoy !!!!!
