Halloween papier-mâché / pressed pulp jack-o'-lantern pumpkin
candy bucket with original-style wire carrying handle.
Wonderful expressive molded face with black eyes and mouth, white pupils, green eyebrows and green painted detail around the bottom.
Measures approximately 5½ inches tall x 6 inches wide, not including the wire handle.
This is an older vintage Halloween piece, not antique. The exact age or manufacturer is unknown. Based on its construction and appearance, we believe it is a mid-century vintage piece, likely 1950s.
The pumpkin shows age and use including scattered paint loss, surface wear and wear around the top opening and handle attachment points. The interior is unfinished white pressed pulp/papier-mâché. Some of the original orange paint ran down into the interior during manufacture, giving a nice indication of the rather crude original factory painting process.
The underside has the molded circular base shown in the photographs. Wire handle remains attached.
