DANBURY MINT 1:24 1959 CADILLAC SERIES 62 CONVERTIBLE — SEMINOLE RED — NEAR-MINT CAR — EXCELLENT ORIGINAL BOX
A TRUE MID-CENTURY SHOWPIECE!
This is a spectacular Danbury Mint 1:24-scale 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible, finished in brilliant Seminole Red with a beautifully detailed red-and-white interior, extensive chrome trim, whitewall tires, and the enormous twin tailfins that made the 1959 Cadillac one of the most instantly recognizable automobiles of the jet age.
Danbury Mint captured the sheer extravagance of the original beautifully—the long, low body, dramatic grille, acres of chrome, towering fins, bullet-style taillights, and wonderfully elaborate open interior. The doors open for an excellent view of the detailed dashboard, steering wheel, upholstery, door panels, and trim, while the hood opens to reveal a highly detailed engine compartment. The trunk also opens to a fully finished luggage compartment with its spare tire.
The exterior is especially striking and presents beautifully from every angle. This is pure late-1950s Cadillac excess in miniature: long, glamorous, flamboyant, and impossible to mistake for anything else.
VEHICLE: Near mint overall, with the exterior presenting in mint condition—a gorgeous bright red finish, excellent chrome and trim, clear glazing, crisp whitewall tires, and outstanding overall display presence. Inside the passenger compartment, there is localized paint/finish peeling on the passenger-side dashboard trim panel, clearly shown in the close-up photograph, along with a tiny sliver of bright/chrome finish loss along the passenger-side interior window-trim edge. Both imperfections are confined to the interior and are difficult to notice during normal display, requiring close inspection into the cabin and the appropriate viewing angle; the dashboard finish loss is the more visible of the two. As with any hand-assembled precision diecast model, there may be additional tiny factory-level finish or assembly variations visible only under extreme close inspection. Despite the disclosed interior imperfections, the model remains a gorgeous, highly attractive display example and displays beautifully from a normal viewing angle and distance!
BOX: Excellent structurally—solid, square, and completely intact—with visible age-related foxing across portions of the exterior cardboard, as clearly shown in the photographs, along with mild normal storage wear. The original fitted Styrofoam packaging is present and remains clean and solid. Includes the original Danbury Mint inspection slip marked “CAREFULLY INSPECTED BY: Vi” with the red number 452022. No other paperwork is included.
