Rare early 19thC Welsh ceramic blue and white transfer printed puzzle jug. Detailed topographical scene of Bath including Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey. Hand cut heart and dot perforations on upper collar.
The base shows textbook early Welsh pearlware profile with a deep recess inside the outer rim. The recess is faint blue.
Two imperfections. There is a slight chip on the lip near the handle measuring 6mm diameter. One of the spouts is detached. The damage is old and the spout was glued back in place. Possibly warm weather has affected the glue. Otherwise, it is in lovely condition.
