K8IROS Mark II is a high-performance basketball shoe designed by former NBA
player Spencer Dinwiddie. Dinwiddie launched the brand to have more
control and a direct connection with fans, in contrast to being a sponsored
athlete for major brands. Released in 2020 with a original retail price
of $130.
Key
features of the K8IROS Mark II
- Cushioning: Uses
a full-length Pebax foam called "KronoFoam," which is designed to be
bouncy and lightweight, with a TPU plate in the heel for added stability.
- Upper: A
comfortable, yet supportive, jacquard knit upper is used for the shoe's
construction, which includes an internal fit-sleeve and an external heel
counter for ankle support.
- Traction: The
outsole has been redesigned from the first model, with a new tread pattern that
provides improved traction, which is especially helpful for explosive first
steps.
- Design: The
Mark II features numerous design elements that tell a story, including the
phrase "be like water," diamond and netting patterns, and other
symbols significant to Dinwiddie.
- Stability: A
forefoot lateral outrigger provides extra stability during cuts and lateral
