An attractive and increasingly scarce set of four antique Masonic dress stud buttons featuring lustrous mother of pearl studs with 9ct gold fronts, hand etched with compass, Masonic symbolism.
Originally intended for formal evening wear, these elegant studs would have adorned a gentleman's shirt or waistcoat and reflect the quality craftsmanship associated with Edwardian and early 20th-century dress accessories. Similar gold and mother-of-pearl dress studs are highly sought after by collectors due to their rarity and the fact that many surviving examples have been converted into cufflinks or other jewellery.
