A Wucai Porcelain Bowl with Auspicious “Chang Ming Fu Gui” Mark

A painted Wucai red, green and yellow enamel Ming Jiajing porcelain bowl. The exterior is decorated with chinese scholars, elegantly dressed woman with children in garden setting with flowering plant. In chinese art children symbolises fertility, many descendants, prosperity and continuation of family lineage. The interior of bowl is fully decorated with continuous floral motif. 

The base is inscribed in underglaze blue with a four-character auspicious mark, “Chang Ming Fu Gui” (长命富贵), meaning “Longevity, Riches and Honour.” The inscription is in a coin-style form.
