The Last Boat Home. Author: Robert E.Lee Publ: Arthur H.Stockwell 95 pp Size: 14 x 21cm

The story of an 'ordinary' sapper in WWII. Of course nothing ordinary about this man's wartime experiences. Part of the BEF he managed to eventually escape from France, not from Dunkirk but 350 miles west at St Malo.

Another part of the 1940 story that has long been neglected with much natural focus on the amazing feat of arms in evacuating hundreds of thousands from Calais/Dunkirk and intervening beaches.

Luckily he survived, many others of course did not. 'we remember them all.
