*Up for sale here is a great looking pictorial beer bottle, from the Armstrong County town of Kittanning, Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh. This crude greenish aqua pint size blob top is in very good shape, with barely any wear or haze. The old glass is sparkling clean. There is one very small partially open bubble to the left of the embossing, and one old lip chip, on the front top side edge of the blob. Which occurred long ago to when bottle was originally opened. This example was covered in old soot, as it looks to have been found under an old building. It would have taken the Baltimore loop closure. The blob top is hand finished and tooled on. Please see the pictures, as they tell the best story. Bottle displays nicely as it is, and would date into the 1890's era.

*It is boldly embossed within a round slug plate, as it nicely reads ~ "ELK BREWING Co. / (detailed picture of an elk) / KITTANNING, PA." The detail on the elk's head is amazing. On the base it has the number "1" embossed. Then on the lower backside it reads with the glass house initials ~ "EHE Co. No. 1". This eye-catching antique pint beer bottle measures 9 1/4 inches tall, and 2 3/4 inches in diameter. A wonderful piece of pre prohibition beer brewing history, from the state of Pennsylvania which you will be quite pleased with.
