Here's an extremely uncommon, rare beauty. You ain't going to find this, anywhere. An authentic Douglas Aircraft Company 55-year employee Service Pin. Item is very shiny, however, due to none-too-good lighting, it looks off-colored. It is not.

NOTE* In 1967 Douglas had already merged, with McDonnell, thus forming McDonnell Douglas. So, technically, a 45-year service pin was the maximum a Douglas employee could acquire. However, authentic 50, 55, and 60-year service pins do exist. The theory is that a Douglas employee could not just start at Year-0, after the merger, thus the pins continued to be awarded.

Item measures approximately 1-inch long, by 1/2-inch high, with seven diamonds. Front has the Douglas Globe, with the three aircraft, signifying their "First Around The World" success. Apparently, made by the Robbins Company, back of pin shows the makers mark, and "14K."

Add a real piece of coolness to your expanding aviation collection.

Heck, buy it for a friend.

Shipping insurance available, upon request.

I do my best to give accurate shipping rates. I won't screw with you. Takes too much effort.

I try to keep shipping rates as reasonable as possible. Thus, I ship in boxes, as shipping envelopes are too fragile, for aviation historical items.
