Offered
for sale scarce Manchukuo Medal for Virtuous Conduct (懿行章), awarded by the Empire of Manchukuo during the
Japanese occupation of Manchuria. This attractive silvered medal was instituted
to recognize exemplary civic conduct, loyalty, and meritorious public service.
The obverse inscription translates as "Virtuous Conduct",
while the reverse bears the character "賜" ("Bestowed by Imperial Gift"). Civil
merit medals of this type are considerably less common than the more frequently
encountered military commemorative awards.
