missing in action on July 31, 1941.
A review of documents on the "Memory of the
People" website revealed that Colonel Yakov Marinin was serving with
the 146th Rifle Division in July 1941.
In July 1941, the 146th Rifle Division (1st Formation)
fought heavy defensive battles as part of the Southwestern Front, retreating
under German attack, and was eventually encircled.
Colonel Marinin was wounded and captured… He was
released from captivity at the end of the war.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class,
and medals…

Полковник Маринин был ранен и попал в плен…..Он был
освобожден из плена в конце войны.
