Set of 3 Japanese mentori-ganna (chamfer planes) in graduated sizes.
Sizes (arranged left to right in the photos), body only, blades not included in measurements:
Left: 119 x 24 x 31 mm, 90 g
Center: 121 x 26 x 37 mm, 121 g
Right: 212 x 31 x 42 mm, 252 g
(measured by me)
These appear to be mentori-ganna (chamfer planes) - Japanese planes with a groove in the sole, used to cut a bevel (chamfer) on the corner of a workpiece. The center one has a very small W-shaped (double-V) groove, only about 1 mm. The largest one has a rounded, U-shaped groove rather than a sharp V - please see photos.
The center one appears to have a maker's mark on the blade, but it is not clearly legible. I cannot identify it.
Some bodies may bear stamps, size markings, handwritten characters or old retail labels - please see photos.
Please note: I am not an expert in Japanese woodworking tools. The described type and intended use may not be accurate. I have not sharpened, adjusted, or removed the blades, and no maintenance has been carried out. Sold as-is in its current condition.
This is a used item. It may have cracks, fine lines, chips, staining, scratches or other flaws. Please check all photos carefully before purchasing - the photos are part of the description. Some flaws may be noticeable by touch even if they are difficult to see in the photos.
These are the exact items you will receive.
It will be carefully wrapped and securely packed for international shipping from Japan.
