CONDITION

Lightly Played with surface scratching on the reverse foil. Fine diagonal scratches run through the lower text area and into the lower portion of the artwork window, visible under angled light and documented in the raking-light macro. Corners are intact with light softening. Edges show light whitening consistent with age. The back is clean with even blue toning. Photographed under diffuse light, at an angle to show the full foil, and under raking light so the scratching is fully visible before you buy.

ABOUT THE SET

EX Dragon, released November 24, 2003, was the fourth set of the EX era and the one that brought Hoenn’s Dragon-type Pokémon into the game across 97 cards. It was among the last English expansions printed with e-Reader dot codes along the card edge, the strip visible at the bottom of this card. EX Dragon reverse holos have grown notably harder to find in clean condition, and the reverse holo commons from this set now trade well above what their rarity symbol suggests.

ABOUT THIS CARD

Grimer 57/97, illustrated by Yuka Morii. Morii builds her Pokémon as physical sculptures and photographs them, which is why Grimer here has real dimension and texture rather than flat linework. Her cards have become a collecting focus of their own across the e-Card and EX eras. Basic, 50 HP, Grass type in this printing. Pound hits for 10 at one Colorless; Poison Spurt discards a Grass Energy to Poison the Defending Pokémon. Weakness to Psychic, one Colorless retreat.

The reverse holo treatment covers the full card outside the artwork window, and it carries the pattern across the e-Reader strip at the bottom edge.

PROVENANCE

Single owner. I pulled this card from an EX Dragon pack myself as a kid in 2003 and it has been in my possession continuously since. It has never been traded, resold, or passed through a bulk lot. Every card in my store comes from that same childhood collection, photographed and described by me personally.
