GRADING SCALE
We grade every card using TCGplayer's standard five-tier condition scale — the same system trusted across the trading card marketplace, so you always know exactly what you're getting:
- Near Mint (NM): Minimal wear from handling or play. May have a couple of very minor scratches or the slightest edge wear, but the card looks essentially unplayed overall, with no major defects. This is the highest condition we — or any seller — can honestly claim on a raw, ungraded card.
- Lightly Played (LP): Light edge wear, small scuffs, or minor scratches. No damage to the card's structural integrity — imperfections are noticeable on inspection but not severe.
- Moderately Played (MP): Visible border or corner wear, scratching, light creasing, or whitening — sometimes a combination of these. The card shows real handling history but remains fully intact.
- Heavily Played (HP): Significant wear — noticeable creasing, whitening, bends, and a higher volume of surface imperfections. Still complete and collectible, just well-loved.
- Damaged (DMG): Major structural issues — tears, heavy creases, water damage, or defects affecting the card's integrity beyond normal wear.
Please Note: Near Mint is not the same as Gem Mint. "Gem Mint" is a top-tier grade issued only by professional grading companies (like PSA or BGS) after physical inspection under magnification. It isn't a claim any seller can honestly make on a raw, ungraded card. When we list a card as Near Mint, we mean genuinely excellent condition to the naked eye under this standard, not a promise of what a grading company would assign.
Every card is graded the way we'd want to receive it ourselves. We look at each one as if it were headed into our own personal collections.
Questions about a specific card's condition before you buy? Just ask — we're always happy to send extra photos.
