Antique Lacquer Dragon Chest.

Chinese Late 19thC Qing Guangxu Era Qiangjin & Tianqi Dragons Lacquer Chest.

I lived in Taiwan and Hong for many years and collected only higher end Chinese antiques.
The collector that I purchased this Dragon Chest from was certain it was very likely created for the Imperial Court, owned by someone within the Court, due to it's incredibly detailed carvings which were then painted over, then lacquered.
It's typical for a chest to be painted on but not carved, then painted.
This means, that there is texture to the dragons as well as depth.
The artistry in this piece is incredible, the artist took a great deal of pride in his work.

I have no idea how much it would cost to ship this, but it would have to be with insurance.
Buyer pays for shipping.
